Building and developing station sound, introducing better systems for
scheduling, presenter training and establishing house styles and formats for
each clock hour. Working with

on additional musical identity and sound design.
BBC Radio Devon I worked with music4 on the new ID commission. It was the first new package on the station in five years so care was needed not to change the station sound overnight but also bring it up to date. For this reason we kept the existing station voice Jon Briggs. Briefing music4 on this and other station requirements I worked with Sandy Beech and musician Roger Dexter to get the best musical kit of parts to reflect the station’s diverse programming. In depth training and familiarisation with presenters and staff helped with a smooth, ‘error free’ launch. BBC Radio Cornwall
Here I was brought in to prepare the station for the launch of commercial competitor ‘Atlantic FM.’ I worked closely with station management and staff from January 2005 re-branding and updating station sound with a more consistent on-air approach, implementing bench marks for cross promotion, efficient and effective promo scheduling and producing monthly promo campaigns based on identifying promotional priorities within the output.
When the project finished, the June 2007 audience figures (Rajar) showed a 38% reach and a 24.4% share, the highest rating for many years.
BBC Coventry and Warwickshire
I worked with the BBC’s newest radio station who where keen to make a smooth
transition from a satellite of Birmingham’s BBC WM into a fully fledged
station for Coventry and Warwickshire. In order to establish a new station
sound and move on quickly (in a matter of days) from the established but
inappropriate style, I produced six one hour programmes to introduce the new
sound, entertain existing listeners and to provide the necessary imaging to

BBC WM
Complete attention to station sound. Assessing requirements for new jingle
commission, briefing and working with music4,
editorial and presenter training, more efficient and effective scheduling
techniques and establishing systems for more consistent on-air branding.

Working with the applicant group on new commercial licences, developing the
station sound and musical identity.
BBC Asian Network
Commissioning new station identity, assessing station requirements, briefing
and working with composer Anu Pillai of Ultimate Dilemma.
TCR FM
Working with new commercial group building a station sound, presenter
training, better, more effective on-air branding and consistency.
HCR FM
Set up and operated this special event station for the Youth Explosion
festival. Trained and worked with presenters on presenting and technical
issues, established the station sound, identity and on-air promotion.
